We found Kayla online at her web site purely by accident. We hired her to come to our house in Lake Lure to do home visit with my pack of unruly dogs. We had adopted a pit bull and she was showing signs of aggression and it scared me but we didn't want to let her go. Kayla came and within minutes the whole motley crew was in order. Unbelievable!!!I was stunned I though all the dog whisper stuff was just TV but she was the female Cesar. We have been using her ever since and I highly recommend. She is very reasonable and no nonsense. She has a clear understanding of dogs and she can change your life. Thanks..girl.

My association with Kayla goes back to the days when she was the dog trainer at the Foothills Humane Society. My wife and I had recently lost our pet dog, Pepper and the time had come to try and fill that vacancy with another pet. We went to the FHS to check out their inventory of animals. But before adopting I decided to become involved with the FHS Saturday volunteer dog training classes. There I met Kayla. I watched her handling style, her demeanor and temperament and an her uncanny ability to communicate with the dogs she worked with. I came away impressed with her ability to connect with every animal she worked with; her ability to control and train the dogs. In short order she would have even the most unruly of animals well behaved, trained in basic social skills and ready for adoption. So when I read Kayla's raving write up of a American Pit Bull mix named Black Jack. Kayla claimed that Black Jack was the best dog she had ever worked with that; that he was a most loving and affection animal. I just had to consider him for our pet and we eventually adopt this wonderful animal. Black Jack came into the FHS as a ferule dog. An animal that had no trust for any human. With months of pateince and loving effort Black Jack "signed" on to Kayla and became her dog. It took the wife and I several months of similar patience and loving to gain Black Jack's trust and love but from what I learned through Kayla in those FHS classes we succeeded in those efforts and Black Jack has become our loving, trusting dog. Thank you Kayla for directing us to this lovely animal and your great work with him preparing him for our adoption.

Our Jack has been known to have some behavioral “issues”. We were worried how caging him in a kennel while we were out of town would affect any progress we had made. We were thrilled to learn about Kayla’s boarding services and philosophy. Kayla had worked with Jack and knew him and understood how concerned we would be about being separated from him. We were so happy to find that Jack loved his time at “Kayla’s camp” and did very well there. We are so appreciative of her patience with both Jack and us - his family!! She did indeed help Jack and educate us as she advertises. We are certainly planning to reward Jack with future visits to Kayla where it is evident she does ‘lead with love’!

As a dog trainer, Kayla has an uncanny ability to read a dog, to understand what's going on, and to train dogs specific to the customer's needs. As a result of Kayla's training and guidance, Sophie will test for her CGC (Canine Good Citizen) in January 2013. Kayla is a pleasure to work with and I highly recommend her group classes for obedience training as well as her "out for a walk" group walks for proper socialization. I recommend Kayla to every first time puppy owner!

This is the first time I have ever participated in formal training with a dog. Gizmo needed socialization and self- confidence and I needed to learn how to effectively interact with my him. With Kayla's help he learned manners, is not as afraid of people and is wonderfully behaved. Dogs and their owners are happier and less stressed when they are both properly trained. Thank you, Kayla!

Having trained under different trainers through the years I rate Kayla as the best. She has the natural ability to assess your dogs behavioral issues and is able to help you correct them. I would recommend her for all your dog training needs without any reservations. We're very fortunate to have someone like her in Polk County. BJV
